What does the $89 service call cover?
The visit itself and the full diagnosis: readings taken on the machine, the fault identified, and the price to put it right given to you before anything else is opened. If you go ahead, the $89 comes off the total.
Does Viking gas equipment need setting up differently in Denver?
Yes. At a mile above sea level there is roughly 17 per cent less air, so a burner set for sea level runs rich — tall orange flames, sooted pans, a simmer that will not hold. Orifices, air shutters and regulator pressure all have to match the altitude, and a range moved here or fitted during a remodel is often still on its factory settings.
How soon can someone come out?
The phone is answered 24/7 and technicians are out 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days. Most Denver calls get a slot within a day; a no-heat oven or a refrigerator losing temperature gets moved up the list.
Do you work on panel-ready and integrated units?
Regularly. Built-in refrigeration and integrated dishwashers have to come out of the cabinetry and go back without marking it, which is most of the skill in the job — especially in older Denver kitchens where the surround was built around the appliance.
Is an older Viking worth repairing?
Usually. These are heavy commercial-derived machines and the parts that fail — igniters, valves, sensors, relays, fans, pumps — are replaceable items on an otherwise sound body. Which parts do you fit?
The manufacturer part wherever the fault touches gas, heat or the sealed system. An equivalent aftermarket part is only fitted where it genuinely is equivalent, and only when you have agreed to it. Old parts stay with you unless you want them taken away.
